PREFACE:
The fire accident may take away houses, properties, happy memories and even valuable human lives in a moment. In Japan, some 60,000 incidents of fire accident take place each year, and more than 2,000 people lose their lives in such accidents. In order to prevent fire accident, "Construction of Fire Retarding Houses" would be an important subject of study, needless to speak of "Fire Preventing Cautions".
Various materials are used in construction and building houses, and PVC is one of them. PVC has been used as construction and housing materials due to its excellent designability, functionality, durability and energy saving properties, in addition to its fire retarding (difficult to burn) characteristics.
In this paper, impacts and safety of PVC in fire accidents will be introduced based on the reference literature both in Japan and abroad. |
