PVC window frames in full gear - the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport publishes its draft "nationwide living environment plan"

After the "basic law concerning the living environment (tentative translation)" was passed and enacted at the House of Councilors on June 2, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport laid down a draft "nationwide living environment plan (tentative translation)" which sets specific nationwide targets and standards for the next 10 years on July 3. It is currently available for public comment (July 3 to August 31) and is expected to reach cabinet decision in autumn.

It is a comprehensive plan to improve the quality of life in dwellings. One of its basic measures is to improve the "rate of existing housing with energy saving measures", as below;

*installment of double glazing window frames or double glazing among a part of/all windows within the housing

Double glazing window frames are mostly comprised of PVC window frames, which are mainly used in heat insulating and energy saving housing reforms. PVC window frames are expected to contribute significantly to achieving this national target. This would serve as the impetus in boosting nationwide PVC window fame usage.
