The bill for promoting contracts to curb emission of greenhouse gases etc (the bill on environment conservation agreement) had passed on May 17th at the House of Representatives. Under the law, the national government and independent administrative agencies must consider not only the cost but also the greenhouse gas emission factors upon making contracts with businesses. Specifically, the purchase of electrical power and energy saving renovation projects (ESCO projects) will be subject to this law. Therefore we believe that the law would boost the use of PVC sashes, as with the case last year when the Ministry of Environment installed PVC inner windows to their office building in order to improve the heat insulation properties of the building. We will further promote the use of PVC sashes. |
