As introduced in our previous reports, PVC inner windows are adopted at the Ministry of the Environment, including the Minister’s room. It has been confirmed that by installing the inner windows, solar radiation was cut down to one third, and the surface temperature of windows fell approximately 2 degrees C in the summertime. During the winter, about 60% of heat loss was cut down and the surface temperature of windows rose approximately 6 degrees C. They blocked cold drafts and the room temperature became warmer after installation. The finding lead the Ministry to further attach PVC inner window frames to their entire building. After the tender took place, installation works began. A tremendous energy saving effect is expected after completion. We expect the move to spread to other ministries and municipalities. |
