VEC Explains Japanese PVC Pipe Recycling Efforts in the Philippines

As a member of the Asia Pacific Vinyl Network (APVN), VEC has been cooperating with PVC related companies in the Asia Pacific region in promoting the environmental advantages of PVC.

Recently there had been another example of such activities. The 30th PAWD (Philippine Association of Water Districts) National Convention was held on February 12 and 13 at the Cebu Island of the Philippines, where VEC was invited as a speaker to present the recycling situations of Japanese PVC pipes. Under cooperation from the Japan PVC Pipe and Fittings Association, VEC compiled materials on the subject and distributed them at the convention. Also, on February 13, VEC met with industrial and government related people in Manila to explain about the Japanese PVC pipe recycling efforts.

Stakeholders such as PVC pipe manufacturers, those related to construction sectors, environmental NGOs and governmental official related to waterworks gathered to listen, and asked various questions or asked for advice on use of recycled PVC pipes or their contribution to the environment.
