Reinforced tax incentives for energy-saving housing renovations

Tax incentives for energy-saving housing renovations have been reinforced yet again.

Since April 2008, 1% or 2% of the balance of housing improvement loans had been made deductible from personal income taxes depending on the level of insulation property improvements. Also, for renovations costing more than 300 thousand yen, one third of the fixed property tax to be imposed on the housing structure for the following year can be exempted. (These tax break policies have been extended until 2013.)

Furthermore, since April this year, personal income tax exemption for 10% of the housing renovation costs had been added.

We hope these tax breaks would spread the adoption of PVC windows, since window renovation is the most effective method for energy saving.
