| Protective Effect Testing of PVC Sidings in the Hot-Spring Spa Resorts Starts |

PVC building and construction materials are believed to be significantly beneficial in the areas of coast or volcano in terms of durability, salt tolerance and chemical resistance. Also, chlorinated PVC pipes with high heat resistance have been used for the plumbing of the sources of hot-spring water, and they could be suitable materials for the hot-spring resorts.
The joint study of “the effect of PVC sidings on concrete protection against salt damage” has already been undertaken with University of the Ryukyus and Nihon University. In addition, we are jointly planning another examination about “the effect of PVC sidings on concrete protection against hydrogen sulfide” at an exposure test center in Kirishima, Kagoshima prefecture.
