Salt-Preventive Performance of PVC Sidings Confirmed in the Test

A study on the protective effect for the concrete deterioration by salt attack has been conducted in Tomari, Hokkaido and Benoki, Okinawa prefecture. For one-year-test specimens, the diffusion of chloride ions into concrete was measured. As a result, the superior salt-preventive performance was found in PVC sidings.

This study data is going to be released by University of the Ryukyus and others at Kyushu Area Meeting of Architectural Institute of Japan in the coming March.

Also, this test is going to be continued beyond next financial year.
