The applications for “PVC Monozukuri (manufacturing) Contest” (Chairman of the Contest Committee: Shigeaki Nakahara, Chairman of VEC), started from October 2010, were closed at the end of February. The contest is co-hosted by PVC-related organizations and associations. We received 173 drawing entries, and for the product section closed on the same day we accepted 176 entries. We have received a lot of interesting and wide range of applications, which made the judges difficult to select 12 candidates. Based on the candidate drawings, every work will be produced as a prototype with the help of PVC processing associations. The final decision of the winners, including the winners among the product entries, is going to be made in the middle of June, and the award ceremony will be held at Club House Josui Kaikan (Tokyo) on July 6, 2011. We would like to appreciate for the large number of applications we have received, and are also delighted to learn that PVC is highly evaluated as a material. |
