VEC and some plastic-related organizations start again to provide lectures on plastics. Since 2012, a single class on plastics has been required to be provided in science classes for first-year middle school students. As a part of contribution to the fostering of the next generation, VEC visited 10 schools in 2011 and 4 in 2012. The class begins with a basic story of plastics. After that we show some familiar plastic products, and make students interested in plastics through some experiments. Our institution covers all expenses for the lectures including transportation, texts and lecturer fee. Also, we are going to participate in “the 60th Middle School Science Education Workshop” held in Tokyo for 3 days from August 7, 2013 and distribute free materials on plastics. |
