VEC's Activity for Providing Lectures on PVC for Students (FY2014)

In the fiscal year 2014, we provided lectures on PVC in 12 classes of 4 junior high schools, for 360 students in total. The lectures are provided for the children who represent the next generation. We, as the Liaison Committee on Plastic Education for teachers of junior high and high schools, conducted the first plant tour and participated in the two local events (Shimane and Ibaraki prefectures) of All Japan Junior High School Society for Science Education.

In this fiscal year, in addition to the existing works, our activities will be expanded by joining the supporting program for weekend Saturday classes which is promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology in Japan (MEXT). As for weekend Saturday classes, it is easier to secure a certain amount of time comparing with weekdays, and for working people to join the activities. We will provide lectures on PVC by performing experiments or devising the teaching method.
