This is a sixth PVC Design Award. As for “Design proposal” section, the cooperative prototype effort between a proposer and a manufacturer is promoted than ever. A manufacturer selects a must-produce item among the applications and produces a prototype after some careful discussion between the two. The application for “Design Proposal” will close on June 30. After that, some meetings for prototype will be held in July. The final due date is October 27, which is the same as the due date for “Product“ entry. The longer period for prototype production and completion is provided than ever. These prototype entries based on “Design Proposal” and the “Product” entries are carefully examined by the judges. The result announcement and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at Conference Square of Marunouchi Bldg. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on November 25, 2016. The winning items are going to be introduced at GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi, which is a space for design promotion on Marunouchi Naka-Dori Street, for 10 days from November 25 to December 4, 2016. In Tokyo, more people could see the winning items than ever. The briefing for designers will be held as described below.
