VEC launched “LCA Committee on PVC Windows (Chairperson: Atsushi Inaba, Prof. of Dept. of Environmental and Energy Chemistry Faculty of Engineering, Kogakuin University)”. The first meeting was held on June 29, 2016.
PVC windows have a great effect of reducing the environmental impact because of the high thermal insulation properties. This committee, under Prof. Inaba, Ex-President of the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment, Japan, aims to evaluate environmental impacts throughout the life cycle from the manufacturing to disposal and recycling. The LCA data of PVC windows will be collected in the next two years.
