Japan PVC Environmental Affairs Council (JPEC) released quarterly magazine of PVC News #99. Please access the JPEC's website, http://www.pvc.or.jp (Japanese only). The special feature of this month is “Accelerating Energy-Saving Measures of Houses and Buildings.” It introduces the reactions of various related fields, focusing on the development of ZEB/ZEH, or the state-of-the-art energy-saving construction. Due to the implementation of the Paris Agreement on global warming in November, each nation began to move toward the realization of a greenhouse gas reduction and decarbonization society. In Japan, some support projects of ZEB/ZEH have already started in the fiscal year 2012 because of the large energy consumption in the residential sector, the enforcement of the Paris Agreement could accelerate this movement. VEC will also work toward the spread of PVC windows with high insulation performance by holding symposiums at the University of Tokyo to promote ZEB/ZEH. “Top News” introduces the awarding ceremony of PVC Design Award 2016 and the winning products. This year again, we received a wide variety of applications for designs and products, and different works were awarded. Also, around 4,000 visitors, at the exhibition held at GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi, could deepen their understanding of PVC materials by touching the works directly. |
