The 7th PVC Design Award 2017 takes place under the theme of “PVC to Open up to Future - Capability and Creation of Beauty.” “Design proposal” and “Product” are looked for. This time, not only flexible PVC products but also rigid ones are accepted. The selection process of “design proposals” is the same as last year. A manufacturer selects an item among the applied “design proposals” and produces a prototype after some careful discussion with the designer. The entry starts on April 1, and the due date for “design proposal” is May 26. The final due date for “product” entry as well as prototype entry based on selected design proposals is October 20, 2017. These prototype entries and product entries are carefully examined by the judges. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 16, 2017. This time, Mr. Yu Yamada, Representative Director of Method Inc., a creative director and buyer, will join as a judge. He is expected to judge the items from a buyer's viewpoint. Also, the Award exhibition is going to be held at GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi (Marunouchi, Tokyo) for 11 days from November 16 to 26, 2017. We expect more people could visit the exhibition in Tokyo.
