Chlorine Cycle Committee was launched

In mid-November, Chlorine Cycle Committee was launched through industry-academia collaboration with the Vinyl Environmental Council as the secretariat.

The purpose of the committee is to create the strategy of chlorine cycle system on the basis of the state-of-the-art technology in the field of dechlorination and chlorine recovery.

Main issues to be discussed are as follows.

• Basic concept of chlorine cycle system
• Current situation and challenges on the Research and Development in the field of dechlorination and chlorine recovery
• Roadmap for the implementation of chlorine cycle system
• Joint research theme through industry-academia collaboration

The chairman is Professor Toshiaki YOSHIOKA, Ph.D, TOHOKU Univ., Graduate School of Environmental Studies.

The members consist of the manufacturers of PVC, VCM and trading companies.
