VEC and JMADO (Plastic Windows Promotion Committee) took part in installing PVC inner windows at the Tokyo University campus, as part of the Todai (Tokyo University) Sustainable Campus Project, or TSCP in short, which is an academic-industry alliance project.

PVC inner windows were installed on all windows at the ground floor of the headquarter building at the campus located in Hongo, which took two days to complete. Condition changes in the rooms were measured for a short while, and approximately 19% of air conditioning burden was cut back according to trial calculations.

Measured results are to be reported at the TSCP conference. VEC hopes that the installation of PVC windows would become a leading example in contributing towards realizing a low carbon campus which is the aim of the TSCP project.
